Dear Mr. Quackenbush,
I have been following the important organizing project for a commemoration to Japanese American farmers at the Pike Place Market. I think it is crucial that their historic contributions to our region be shown respect and appreciation in this highly visible fashion. There could not be a more appropriate or meaningful location for this memorial than the Pike Place Market.
I just viewed the sample of Aki Sogabe's design which appears on the project website and wanted to express admiration for this artist's work. It will be a powerful and fitting addition to the Main Arcade at the market.
Sincerely,
Helen Gilbert Managing Editor
